Super Size Me 2 Is Happening! Official Trailer Released

The revealing documentarian is back again for a second shocking film.

It's been 15 years since we learned the shocking truths that came from Super Size Me. And, now, Morgan Spurlock, filmmaker and director, is back it again with Super Size Me 2. But instead of doing a strict fast food diet like his first revolutionary documentary, he decides to open up a fast food joint himself. And it's all focused on fried chicken.

In the newly dropped trailer for the film, Spurlock makes a few points that will make consumers reconsider what they are consuming on a regular basis. Fast food chains have claimed to make "healthier" changes since his original documentary Super Size Me was released in 2004, but Spurlock questions these claims. He digs into the actual truth and even reveals the realities behind humane labels we tend to hear, like "free-range" and "cage-free."

At one point in the trailer, Spurlock's interviewee says that fast food chains have been "health washing the dirty, unhealthy truth." The trailer shows flashing images of cooks adding grill marks on to a chicken patty, someone actually painting on a sandwich for a photo shoot, and even a confession that fresh, green herbs add a "health halo" to a fast food item. His adventure towards making his own fast food joint has one simple goal: To be completely honest with the customers.

The original release date of Super Size Me 2 was set to be in 2017, but it was held back because of some accusations against Spurlock in conjunction with the #MeToo movement. However, according to IndieWire, one of the farmers from the film was determined to have it released. A PR representative for Super Size Me 2 reached out to Eat This, Not That! letting us know the film will be released in theaters and on-demand on September 13, 2019. The film will be 93 minutes long.
