Walmart Just Pulled This Item From Shelves Because of a Quality Issue
There are thousands of items in each Walmart store, but one made especially for young children was just pulled from shelves because of a quality issue. A Facebook post revealed that the company sent a notice to all stores saying that the Parent's Choice Baby Wipes need to be removed, according to the Miami Herald.
The affected Unscented Solo Club Box, Scented Baby Wipe Box, and the Unscented Box Wipes at Walmart all come from one of 18 Parent's Choice Lot numbers located on the outside packaging. However, no recall from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has been issued.
A statement from Walmart to the newspaper reveals the reasoning behind the pull: "Walmart proactively removed select lot numbers of Parents Choice baby wipes from stores due to a quality issue. We are working closely with the supplier and FDA to investigate the issue. Customers may return the product to any Walmart store for a refund."
Rumors online and posted to social media claim the wipes turned orange and caused diaper rash and a burning sensation, according to Motherhood Community. However, there is no confirmation that these issues are because of these specific wipes. A spokesperson for the retailer tells Eat This, Not That! that the supplier alerted them to the issue as "some of the wipes turning brown when exposed to air. This discoloration is caused by a reaction of the product with air and in some cases, may also result in temporary staining of skin."
The news is unfortunate for parents who may already be struggling to grocery shop for their young children. A massive shortage of baby formula because of supply issues, a recall, and high demand has been plaguing supermarkets for months. In mind-April Walmart and other major retailers like Kroger, Target, Walgreens, and CVS put a purchase limit in place since 30% of the supply was sold out.
Unfortunately, this isn't the only product to become unavailable at Walmart recently. Here's why These Grocery Items Sold at Walmart, Wegmans, H-E-B, and Amazon Are Being Pulled From Shelves.
