This Fast-Food Burger Chain Is Adding Avocado and Bacon to Its Menu

The most requested burger topping is finally here.

Shake Shack just announced some very big news for fans of its iconic burgers. The fast-food chain is adding two new ingredients to its menu—avocado and bacon—and it's marking the occasion with a pair of limited-edition sandwiches that take advantage of the beloved flavors.

Though the chain is adding avocado to its permanent menu, bacon is sadly here for a limited time. Right now, you can enjoy both ingredients when you order the Avocado Bacon Burger, a cheeseburger with avocado, bacon, and signature sauce, or the Avocado Bacon Chicken Sandwich, which includes a crispy chicken breast, avocado, bacon, lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk-herb mayonnaise. These two creations will be available at all locations nationwide through June 30 only, so get them while they're hot. (RELATED: 7 New Fast-Food Chicken Sandwiches Everyone Is Talking About)

Avocado has been one of the most requested additions to burgers at Shake Shack, and its addition to the permanent menu has been in the works for some time, according to Thrillist. While the bacon and the two new menu items won't be sticking around forever, you'll be able to add avocado moving forward to any item you like for only $1.25.

If you don't feel like leaving home to get a burger, know that ordering delivery from Shake Shack just became easier and cheaper than ever. The chain recently launched its own new delivery service, which means you won't have to use expensive third-party delivery options when you're craving their soft-bunned burgers and crispy crinkle-cut fries.
