Pepsi Just Launched a New Soda Inspired by This Beloved Candy

Pepsi's push for new flavors is exploding in this fun, new brand collab.

Is it just us, or is there something extra-special about this spring? Lots of us are loving on the weather, while for others, the COVID-19 vaccine is making it safer to step out and have fun. If you're like us, you've also noticed how new beverage launches are happening everywhere, but today's announcement from Pepsi has quickly landed among our favs.

PEPSI x PEEPS is on the way to deliver a "limited batch of its first-ever marshmallow cola," according to a press release issued this morning. It goes on to explain how the two beloved brands have teamed to "help usher in the joyous, relaxing vibes of springtime and give fans one more reason to celebrate the new season."

Needless to say, we are here for this—the caveat is that it's not for everybody. No, we're not calling Pepsi out for being a "Not That!" brand, but it's actually not possible to step out and buy PEPSI x PEEPS. Instead, starting today, the duo is running a campaign on social media where they're inviting fans "to show the world how they're enjoying their favorite springtime activities—in a safe, socially distant manner—through the #HangingWithMyPEEPS sweepstakes." To participate, Instagram and Twitter users can submit photos of themselves "enjoying the spring with PEEPS by tagging @PEPSI, #HangingWithMyPEEPS and #PepsiSweepstakes," the brands explain. Some winners will receive a limited-edition three-pack of PEPSI x PEEPS, while 10 grand-prize winners will get their own collector's package of PEPSI x PEEPS.

It's clear you've really got to love the sugary marshmallow flavor of PEEPS to get in on this one, but the options don't stop there. Last week, Pepsi announced the new Pepsi Mango as its first permanent flavor release in five years. While it's important to read up on the nutrition information for Pepsi Mango, these new flavor launches certainly gives us even more reason to celebrate a season that's already pretty sweet.
