Costco Has This Beloved Drink For Cheap
Some things are better left unchanged, especially when it comes to the recipe and price of our favorite foods and drinks. Luckily, the minds behind a classic American beverage brand share in this philosophy and have held strong to their beliefs–and prices–for nearly 30 years.
Founder and Chairman of AriZona iced tea, Don Vultaggio, has made it clear the company has no intentions of raising the price of its nostalgic 'big cans' from their original $0.99. And, while this benefits all consumers with a sweet tooth for the drink, Costco members are privy to even more cost savings.
In the land where food court hot dogs are only $1.50 and discount bulk items line the shelves, Costco shoppers can also snag a 24-pack of 16-ounce Arizona Tea bottles for the low cost of just $16.99. That shakes out to just $0.71 per bottle. And, even at a smaller volume per bottle compared to the 23-ounce cans, it's a deal worth adding to the shopping list.
The Costco Arizona pack comes in a Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey flavor. Other variations of the brand including different sizes and flavors can also be found at Costco Business Centers.
AriZona and Costco are a match made in heaven when it comes to offering consistently low prices. Both companies have been adamant about protecting their popular deals cherished by consumers and working to maintain affordable product costs–even amidst record-high inflation rates. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 'food at home' price index has increased 10% just in the past year.
"Everything (people are) buying today there's a price increase on. We're trying to hold the ground and hold for a consumer who is pinched on all fronts," AriZona's Vultaggio told Today.
In order to remain profitable with a fixed product price, AriZona has found other ways to cut back such as keeping marketing budgets small and reducing the amount of aluminum used to produce each can.
Even with the brand's limited marketing, a combination of low costs, great taste, and aesthetic, recognizable packaging have made AriZona one of the leading ready-to-drink tea brands in the U.S. And, with an estimated 1 billion 'big can' sales per year and continued deals such as the Costco 24-pack, the brand's success doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon.
