Blake Shelton has a long list of impressive accomplishments on his: Voice judge, American Music Award winner, Grammy nominee, and future Mr. Gwen Stefani, just to name a few. However, the country crooner's newest title might surprise even his biggest fans: Hard seltzer mogul!
On March 31, Shelton announced that he had teamed up with vodka maker Smithworks to create his own line of hard seltzer lemonade, available just in time for spring break getaways and summer barbecues.
"I am excited to officially announce the launch of Smithworks American-brewed Hard Seltzer Lemonade, each flavor inspired by a place that's home to me, the Heartland," says Shelton.
Calling them "liquid sunshine," Shelton says the drinks are the perfect antidote to the difficulties of the past year.
"More special than ever coming out of the past year, we are extra excited for the Smithworks Hard Seltzer Lemonade launch, so we can enjoy all the feelings of summer, appreciate the good stuff and get back to some fun," says Shelton.
The beverages, which pack 100 calories, five percent alcohol, and just one gram of sugar per 12-oz. can, are available in four flavors that perfectly complement everything from burgers to grilled corn. According to the press release, the current lineup of flavors include:
"Classic Lemon – Our version of the All-American taste of summer: classic, cool lemonade. Serve chilled for a refreshing, tart, slightly sweet taste for those hot summer months.
Ripe Strawberry – Like the first bite into summer's favorite fruit: strawberry. A refreshing, slightly sweet infusion into lemonade with a punch of fresh-tasting strawberry flavor.
Southern Peach Tea – A nod to our Heartland roots, offering the perfect flavors of refreshing lemonade blended with southern sweet tea and a juicy peach twist.
Crisp Lime – Inspired by Blake's favorite combination of lemon and lime, brings the tart crispness of lime flavor to the crisp sweetness of America's favorite drink."
The drinks are currently available in 17 states, with rollout to additional states continuing throughout 2021.
This isn't the first time Shelton, who's a partner in the Smithworks, has teamed up with the beverage brand to create drinks. Shelton was an integral player in the creation of Smithworks' signature vodka, the release of which was announced in Dec. 2020.
"As part of the Smithworks family, I've been involved in the development of the brand, and I'm excited for everyone to finally taste what we've been crafting. At its core, Smithworks celebrates that moments in life are better spent with good people and great drinks," Shelton said in a statement via People.
