Chobani Launched a New Milk & Cookies Yogurt, And It Tastes Like Dessert

Each purchase of this Santa Claus-approved flavor supports farmers nationwide.

It's been a solid year for Chobani, having launched several new yogurt products, including their non-dairy line. More recently, the brand debuted a nut butter Greek yogurt where plain, honey, chocolate, or vanilla Greek yogurts are layered on top of either almond, hazelnut, or cashew butter. Now, the company has introduced another delicious product that even Santa Claus would approve of—and it even has a special incentive, too.

Chobani's latest Milk & Cookies flavored Greek yogurt supports and celebrates American dairy farmers. The limited-edition Farmer Batch is made in partnership with American Farmland Trust, a non-profit organization that works to protect and conserve farmland. So, for every purchase of a 4-pack of Farmer Batch Chobani Milk & Cookies Greek yogurt, 10 cents will be donated to AFT to offer microgrants of up to $10,000 to farmers. This money can be used to help protect their farmland, strengthen their farm businesses, or develop climate plans.

Let's talk about nutrition. Is Chobani's Farmer Batch yogurt healthy?

1 container (150 g): 160 calories, 4.5 g fat (3 g saturated fat, 0 g trans fat), 60 mg sodium, 18 g carbs (1 g fiber, 16 g sugar), 11 g protein

We love Greek yogurt here at Eat This, Not That!, so overall this yogurt product gets our stamp of approval. The only aspect that could be improved is the sugar content. Of the 16 grams that are in just one container, 11 grams fall under the added sugars category, which is a lot for something that's under 200 calories.

However, we have to admit, the taste is absolutely superb (seriously, everyone raved about it). We couldn't stop spooning into this creamy whipped treat. With 4.5 grams of fat and 11 grams of protein, this is a satiating treat and a protein-packed snack for when your sweet tooth strikes.

Why is Chobani teaming up with AFT?

With the number of U.S. dairy farms on the decline, with an average of five dairy farms closing a day over the past decade, it's more important than ever to support the remaining dairy farmers who have picked up on the slack.

"Dairy farms are critical parts of the economy and landscape in communities across America, but dairy farm families are facing tremendous change due to a weak dairy economy, disruptions from severe weather, and an aging farming population," said David Haight, AFT Vice President of Programs in a press release. "We are proud to stand beside Chobani in helping dairy farmers plan for the future as they face these daunting challenges."
